A Magical Forest Setting
Hub Wildlings is nestled in the beautiful ancient woodland of Coed Llwynonn. This magical space offers children the perfect environment to explore, build, create, and connect with nature. With towering trees, natural shelters, hidden trails, and endless possibilities for adventure, our site provides a rich, ever-changing environment where learning comes naturally through play and discovery.
"The best classroom and the richest cupboard are roofed only by the sky."
What Makes Our Site Special

Ancient Woodland
Covering around 12 acres of mature mixed woodland, our forest is home to towering beech and ash trees, creating a cathedral-like canopy that shelters and inspires. The woodland has stood here for generations, holding stories and wisdom in every tree.

Gardens & Growing Spaces
The site includes an orchard and a walled garden where children can learn about growing food, caring for plants, and understanding where our nourishment comes from. These spaces offer endless opportunities for hands-on learning and connection with the earth.

Our Facilities
We are constantly improving the site which currently has a big cargo net, an open classroom shelter, an art studio / library, a fire circle, composting toilet and a stage.
We have some big projects planned for 2026, including getting our large geodesic dome re-clad and transformed into a really cosy indoor–outdoor space, and adding a new outdoor kitchen too!

Caring for Our Forest Together
As part of the Calon y Coed community, we share responsibility for caring for this beautiful space. Community members come together for work parties, maintaining the site, building new features, and ensuring the forest remains a safe, welcoming haven for all who visit.
This collaborative care teaches children that we belong to the land as much as it belongs to us, and that taking care of our environment is a shared joy and responsibility.

Wildlife Haven
Our forest is alive with wildlife - red squirrels darting through the branches (though we've yet to get one to pose for a photo!), woodpeckers tapping out their rhythms, buzzards and red kites soaring overhead. Children learn to observe, respect, and celebrate the creatures who share this space with us.

Sacred Heritage
The forest sits close to Bryn Celli Ddu, Anglesey's most prominent burial chamber. This ancient sacred site reminds us that people have been drawn to this land for thousands of years, finding meaning and connection in these woods.
"In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks."
